As part of its community service initiative, Ryvanz-Mia Charity Corp, in partnership with Namayingo United Women’s Group (NUWOG), built and presented a new energy-saving stove to Gladys, a mother of three living with a disability in Namayingo District, Uganda.
For Gladys, preparing daily meals for her children had been difficult. A traditional open fire produces heavy smoke, consumes large amounts of firewood, and requires constant attention. Living with a disability made these challenges even greater.
The newly built energy-saving stove is already making an important difference in Gladys home. It uses less firewood, produces less smoke, cooks food more efficiently, and provides a safer cooking environment for her and her children. By reducing the amount of firewood needed, the stove will also help the family save money and lessen the physical burden of gathering fuel.
Although it may appear to be a simple structure, this stove represents something much greater for Gladys: dignity, independence, safety, and renewed hope.
This community service project reflects the shared commitment of Ryvanz-Mia Charity Corp and NUWOG to supporting vulnerable women, persons with disabilities, and families facing difficult circumstances. Sustainable solutions such as energy-saving stoves can improve everyday living while protecting health and the environment.
